Each game from here on means either a growing chance to reach college basketball’s most prominent stage, or the end of the road for Sacramento State and UC Davis men’s teams. Their odysseys begin at midday Thursday, and here’s how to follow the action.

UC Davis and Cal State Northridge tip off at noon in the opening round of the Big West Conference tournament in Anaheim. That game will be broadcast on radio FM 105.5.

Sac State plays Portland State at 12:30 p.m. in a first-round Big Sky Conference tournament game. That contest will be broadcast on AM 1380.

Sac State is offering on-campus viewing parties for its men’s and women’s games. Details here.

Live coverage of both games will be provided on a live blog at sacbee.com, with pre-game coverage starting at 11:30 a.m. Updates, highlights, scores and other information will be provided throughout both games by The Sacramento Bee’s coverage team as well as other sources.

Continued victories through the single-elimination tournaments would allow Sac State and UC Davis teams to advance to the NCAA Tournament, college basketball’s biggest event.
