Hornets get second win in Taiwan basketball tournament

Forward Justin Strings scored a game-high 24 points and had eight rebounds to lead Sacramento State to an 81-60 victory over Chinese Taipei B in the fifth round of the William Jones Cup in Taiwan.

The Hornets improved to 2-3 in the eight-game, nine-day, nine-team men’s basketball tournament in New Taipei City. Chinese Taipei B is 2-2.

The Hornets trailed 38-34 at halftime, but outscored Chinese Taipei B 47-22 in the second half, including a 28-13 advantage in the fourth quarter.

Marcus Graves had 13 points for the Hornets, Grant Dressler had 12 and Nick Hornsby 11. Graves also had six of the Hornets’ 15 steals.
