When Major League Baseball released tentative 2018 schedules in September, the A’s announced a free game to celebrate their 50th anniversary at the Coliseum.
When the A’s take on the Chicago White Sox on April 17 at home, there will be no admission charge. Details on how to get the tickets were announced Wednesday on the team’s website. Sign-ups for the tickets begins Jan. 10 at 8 a.m.
The celebration will come during the team’s 10th home game of the season. The A’s open the regular season at the Coliseum on March 29, when they face the Los Angeles Angels in the first of a four-game series.
In another change from the last two seasons, the Bay Bridge Series will be split up.

The A’s head to AT&T Park for a three-game set July 13-15, then host the Giants for three contests the following weekend, with the All-Star break in between. The Bay Area rivals played four consecutive games, two at each team’s home site, in 2016 and ’17.
