PORTLAND TIMBERS 2 0

First pro goal: Second-half sub Zev Taublieb scored his first pro goal inside the box in the 82nd minute. Defender James Kiffe crossed to David Estrada, whose shot was blocked by Timbers 2 goalkeeper Jake Gleeson. Taublieb, a midfielder, followed up with a sliding shot past Gleeson.

Moving to the top: With its third consecutive win at Bonney Field, Republic FC (4-2-0) is alone atop the Western Conference after Arizona United (3-1-0) and the Seattle Sounders 2 (3-2-0) both lost on Saturday.

Returning the favor: The win avenged a 2-1 Republic FC loss to the Timbers 2 (2-2-1) on April 2 in Portland.

More records: With construction completed on expansion at Bonney Field, the match drew an announced record sellout crowd of 11,242. Republic FC is 14-1-1 in USL regular-season and playoff matches at Bonney.
