Republic FC can extend its home league USL Pro unbeaten streak to 10 matches when it plays the Wilmington Hammerheads at Bonney Field tonight at 8 p.m.
With a victory, third-place Republic FC (14-6-3) also will earn a first-round home playoff match.
Sacramento, which qualified for the postseason last weekend, has a six-match league unbeaten streak after crushing the Orange County Blues FC 6-1 on Sunday at UC Irvine. Forward Thomas Stewart came off the bench to score three second-half goals, and midfielder Max Alvarez had two assists.
Wilmington (6-6-8), which has lost four matches in a row, is in 12th place but still has eight league matches to play. The Hammerheads will host Republic FC on Aug. 30 in North Carolina.
