Republic FC midfielder Rodrigo Lopez and defenders Mickey Daly and Nemanja Vukovic were named to the 11-player USL all-league second team Monday.

Lopez, who announced this month that he will not return to Sacramento next season, led Republic FC in scoring with 12 goals and six assists, including 10 goals and five assists in USL matches.

Lopez, Daley and Vukovic helped Republic FC reach the USL playoffs again in the team’s second year in the league.

Last year, after Republic FC won the USL title, Vukovic was named the USL Defender of the Year, and Lopez made the first team.

The USL regular-season and postseason champion Rochester Rhinos placed midfielder Tony Walls, goalkeeper Brandon Miller and center back Grant Van De Casteele on the first team. Miller also was named the Goalkeeper of the Year on Monday.

The Charleston Battery had defender Shawn Ferguson named to the first team and goalkeeper Odisnel Cooper and forward Dane Kelly chosen for the second team.

The 12-team Western Conference had four players on the first team and six on the second team.

Only two players from the eight Major League Soccer-sponsored squads were represented. Los Angeles Galaxy II defender Daniel Steres made the first team. and Portland Timbers 2 forward Kharlton Belmar made the second team.

The 22-man team was voted on by USL team management and a league-wide media panel.
