Having built a new arena with global appeal, the Kings fittingly will break in Golden 1 Center against Israeli club Maccabi Haifa on Oct. 10.
In announcing their preseason schedule Tuesday, the Kings will play twice at the downtown arena. The other game is against the Los Angeles Clippers in a preseason finale Oct. 18.
Sacramento opens the preseason against the Los Angeles Lakers on Oct. 4 at Honda Center in Anaheim. The Kings also will face the Golden State Warriors on Oct. 6 at SAP Center in San Jose, the Lakers on Oct. 13 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and the Washington Wizards on Oct. 15 at Rupp Arena in Lexington, Ky., where DeMarcus Cousins, Willie Cauley-Stein and Skal Labissiere played for Kentucky.
Teams often play preseason games at non-NBA venues to help spread the league’s popularity and give fans a chance to watch professional teams.

The Kings will open their third arena since relocating from Kansas City, Mo., in 1985. They played in the original Arco Arena, a 10,333-seat venue, for the first three seasons and Arco Arena II – now Sleep Train Arena – from 1988 through last season.
The NBA is expected to release the regular-season schedule in August.
