George Karl said he likes to think outside of the box.
So it’s no surprise Karl would consider only what San Antonio’s Gregg Popovich has done and add a woman to his coaching staff.
Yahoo! reported Tuesday Karl would consider Hall of Fame basketball player Nancy Lieberman as an assistant coach.
Lieberman is considered one of the best female basketball players ever and has coached in the WNBA.

Karl does not plan to change the coaching staff until after the season.
“I know Nancy and I think she’s a quality basketball person,” Karl said after his first practice with the Kings Wednesday. “I’ve known her for years. Again I don’t think those decisions are going to be made until summer time. At that moment, how my staff filters out, she’ll be someone I have interest in.”
Popovich hired former WNBA star Becky Hammon this season, making her the NBA’s first full-time female assistant coach.
