Kings use big fourth quarter to defeat Lakers

Player of the game: Rudy Gay had 19 points, nine rebounds and seven assists as the Kings defeated the Los Angeles Lakers 116-104 Thursday night at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. DeMarcus Cousins and Ty Lawson both rested.

Turning point: After giving up 36 points in the third quarter, the Kings held the Lakers to 24 in the fourth. The Lakers rallied from 18 down to tie the score in the third quarter and trail 82-80 at the end of the period.

X-factor: Kings forward Anthony Tolliver made all seven of his three-point attempts off the bench for 21 points.

Injuries: Garrett Temple (sore back).

Preseason record: Kings 2-2, Lakers 2-3
