Barnes comes off bench, helps spark Kings to first win at Golden 1

Player of the game: Matt Barnes provided a spark off the bench as the Kings overcame an 18-point deficit for a 106-103 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday night at Golden 1 Center. Barnes had 12 points and a game-high nine assists. DeMarcus Cousins had 29 points before fouling out in the fourth quarter, and Rudy Gay had 28 points.

Turning point: The Kings used a 5-0 run to lead 105-100 with 1:10 left on Ty Lawson’s 3-pointer off a Barnes assist. Minnesota had two chances to tie it in the final seconds but Andrew Wiggins missed a jumper and Gorgui Dieng’s putback was short

X-factor: After giving up 65 points in the first half, the Kings held Minnesota to 12 in the third quarter to go ahead.

Records: Kings 2-1, Timberwolves 0-2
