Player of the game: Forward Rudy Gay led all scorers with 28 points on 12-of-20 shooting, including a three-pointer that gave the Kings a 93-83 lead with 4:51 to play.

Turning point: After leading by 16 points just before halftime, the Kings trailed 77-76 entering the fourth quarter. But the Kings started the fourth with a 10-0 run and did not trail again.

Key stat: The Kings outshot the Grizzlies 48.8 percent to 40.5 percent.

X-factors: Jason Thompson had 10 points and 11 rebounds and tied a career high with four blocked shots, while Ben McLemore had 16 points.
