Turning point: After New Orleans trimmed the Kings’ 12-point lead to five, Arron Afflalo made a 3-pointer and was fouled by rookie Buddy Hield. The free throw gave the Kings a 97-88 lead with 45.2 seconds to play.

X-factor: Afflalo was the third scorer the Kings needed to go with Cousins and Rudy Gay (21 points). Afflalo finished with 15 points.
