Player of the game: Rudy Gay had 23 points and nine rebounds as the Kings ended a four-game losing streak with a 102-99 victory over the Toronto Raptors on Sunday night at Golden 1 Center. Toronto appeared to have forced overtime on Terrence Ross’ 3-pointer at the buzzer, but the officials ruled the clock did not start properly on the play and time had expired.
Turning point: The Raptors went scoreless from the 4:16 mark of the fourth quarter until only 27.4 seconds remained. The Kings scored only five points in that span but went ahead 102-97.
X-factor: The Kings didn’t completely rely on halfcourt offense and found easy points, scoring 17 off the fast break. That helped them overcome 14 turnovers that led to 21 Toronto points.
