Sacramento Kings All-Star center DeMarcus Cousins will sit out tonight’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies for rest.
Cousins, who had been bothered by a strained right calf and sore right foot, was not listed on the team’s injury report with those ailments the last two days.
Cousins leads the Kings with 24.1 points and 12.4 rebounds per game.
Kings coach George Karl said Sunday he’d spoken to Cousins and Rudy Gay about resting for a game or two the final 10 games this season.

Cousins recently said that he if he’s healthy, he did not intend to sit out games. Gay also isn’t interested in sitting out when healthy.
Sitting out Cousins will give Karl the chance to experiment with lineups, something he said he wanted to do.
The Kings are 3-13 without Cousins this season.
Jason Thompson or Ryan Hollins figure to start for Cousins.
