Kings guards Bogdan Bogdanovic and Buddy Hield have been named to the World Team for the Rising Stars Challenge during All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles. The game will be played Feb. 16.

The game featuring 20 first- and second-year NBA players pits a United States team against an international squad.

Bogdanovic is a rookie from Serbia. Hield, in his second season, is a native of the Bahamas.

Hield is averaging 12.5 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists. He’s shooting 43.8 percent from 3-point range, sixth in the NBA and second among all international players.

Bogdanovic is averaging 11.4 points, seventh among rookies, and 3.0 assists.

The Kings have had 11 players in the Rookie or Rising Stars Challenge dating to 1994, most recently Isaiah Thomas in 2013. Tyreke Evans was MVP of the game as a rookie in 2010.

The World roster includes the Philadelphia duo of center Joel Embiid, who was also voted a starter in the All-Star Game, and guard Ben Simmons. Simmons is widely viewed as the favorite to win Rookie of the Year.

The U.S. team is headlined by reigning Rookie of the Year Malcolm Brogdon of the Bucks, Utah’s Donovan Mitchell, three Los Angeles Lakers (Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Kyle Kuzma), and two Boston Celtics (Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum).
