The Kings announced Frank Mason III will be out until after the All-Star break as he recovers from a heel injury.

The team on Monday said the rookie point guard is progressing well from the injury suffered Dec. 31, but he’ll be held out to get him ready for the rest of the season.

The Kings’ first game after the All-Star break is Feb. 22, when they host the Oklahoma City Thunder at Golden 1 Center.

An All-American and Player of the Year at Kansas, Mason is averaging 7.6 points and 2.9 assists in 29 games.

When the Kings host the Chicago Bulls on Monday, forward Skal Labissiere (shoulder strain) and guard Malachi Richardson (left ankle sprain) won’t play.

Center Willie Cauley-Stein (right knee bruise and left foot strain) is probable.
