Kings guard Buddy Hield will participate in the Taco Bell Skills Challenge on Feb. 17 during All-Star Weekend.
Hield replaces Utah Jazz rookie guard Donovan Mitchell, who withdrew to replace Orlando Magic forward Aaron Gordon in the Slam Dunk contest.
New York Knicks forward Kristaps Porzingis won the challenge last year in New Orleans.
Hield, along with Kings rookie Bogdan Bogdanovic, is playing in the Rising Stars game Feb. 16. He is the Kings’ top 3-point shooter and ranks ninth in the NBA this season at 43.2 percent.

NBA All-Star Weekend takes place Feb. 16-18 at Staples Center in Los Angeles.
Hield is averaging 12.5 points in his second NBA season out of Oklahoma. He was acquired last February from New Orleans as part of the trade for DeMarcus Cousins. Hield was the sixth overall pick in the 2016 draft.
Cousins (2016, 2017) is the only other King to participate in the Skills Challenge.
