The Kings announced Sunday that swingman Joe Johnson was waived.

The team reached an agreement on a buyout with the veteran after he was acquired from the Utah Jazz as part of Thursday’s trade that sent George Hill to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Johnson, a seven-time All-Star in his 17th NBA season, will sign with the Houston Rockets after clearing waivers, according to multiple reports.

The Kings have 14 players under contract following the move, giving them the ability to add another free agent this season.
