Grading the Kings’ draft: How Marvin Bagley can help immediately

Here's how the Kings fared in Thursday's NBA draft.

Marvin Bagley III, No. 2 overall

School: Duke

Position: Forward

Height, weight: 6-foot-11, 234 pounds

Stats: 21.0 ppg, 11.1 rpg, 1.5 apg, 0.9 bpg

Comment: A very vocal portion of the Kings' fanbase wanted Slovenian guard/forward Luka Doncic, but Bagley addresses two major needs. The Kings were one of the worst offensive teams in the NBA last season, and Bagley is one of the most gifted offensive players in the draft class. The Kings lacked players who could create easy baskets, and Bagley is projected as a scorer in the paint and out to the 3-point line. The Kings were also a bad rebounding team, and Bagley is a great rebounder.

Grade: A-

Comment: The Kings selected Duke guard Gary Trent Jr. with their second-round pick, No. 37 overall, and traded his draft rights to the Portland Trail Blazers for two future second-round picks.

Grade: Incomplete
