Kings to hold minicamp before summer league

The Kings announced Tuesday they will hold a three-day minicamp starting July 7 before leaving for the Las Vegas summer league.

The team will be coached by assistant coaches Chad Iske and John Welch. Vance Walberg, who joined coach George Karl’s staff last season, and Corliss Williamson will serve as assistants. Williamson is the only holdover from the staff that began last season.

The summer-league roster features Nik Stauskas, last year’s first-round draft pick, and Willie Cauley-Stein, this year’s first-round choice.

The roster includes four players who spent time with the Kings last season after being called up from their NBA Development League affiliate in Reno: David Stockton, David Wear, Sim Bhullar and Eric Moreland, who has recovered from season-ending shoulder surgery.

Also on the roster are former UC Davis standout Corey Hawkins and Alex Oriakhi, whose rights came to Sacramento from Phoenix in the sign-and-trade for Isaiah Thomas last summer.
