The college fan base known as Big Blue Nation will see some of the best NBA players from its program in a preseason game up close.

The Kings will play the New Orleans Pelicans in a preseason game at Rupp Arena in Lexington, Ky., home to the Kentucky basketball team, on Oct. 17.

Kings DeMarcus Cousins, Rajon Rondo and Willie Cauley-Stein all played at Kentucky. New Orleans’ Anthony Davis also starred at Kentucky.

Rondo is the only former Wildcat who did not play for current Kentucky coach John Calipari.

It is the second known road preseason game for the Kings. They also play the Lakers at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Oct. 13.
