▪ 1. Prepare for the best: Spurs coach Gregg Popovich might choose to sit some of his top players in the second of back-to-back games. The Kings shouldn’t let that affect their approach because the Spurs’ second unit can also execute with precision.
▪ 2. Limit the fouls: Kings center DeMarcus Cousins is averaging 5.4 fouls and fouled out twice in his last five games. The Kings need Cousins on the floor and he might have to concede a basket at times to stay in the game.
▪ 3. Stops, please: In their last two games, the Kings have been passive at best defensively after the first quarter. They need to stay disciplined and focused because the Spurs will test them with constant passing and player movement.
