Shorthanded Kings beat New Orleans 99-89

The Kings were shorthanded, but won their third consecutive game, 99-89, over the New Orleans Pelicans Tuesday night at Smoothie King Center.

Rudy Gay (right Achilles tendinitis) and Darren Collison (left quadriceps contusion and muscle strain) missed the game but the Kings won behind DeMarcus Cousins (22 points, 12 rebounds, five assists) and Omri Casspi with 22 points.

Casspi started for Gay. Ramon Sessions started for Collison and had 15 points and six assists.

The Kings (9-5) play at Houston Wednesday.

Tyreke Evans led New Orleans (7-6) with 22 points.

Kings coach Michael Malone was ejected in the second quarter for arguing calls.
