Kings game plan against the Oklahoma City Thunder

KINGS (11-13)

VS. THUNDER (11-13)

THE PARTICULARS

▪ Where: Sleep Train Arena

▪ Time: 7:30 p.m.

▪ TV/radio: ESPN, CSNCA, 950, 1140

THREE KEYS

▪ 1. Turnovers: The Kings have averaged 17.8 turnovers in their 13 losses. Thunder guard Russell Westbrook is among the best in the NBA at forcing opponents into mistakes, so the Kings must prevent him from converting steals into dunks.

▪ 2. Wing defense: Opposing small forwards have given the Kings problems. Rudy Gay will start the game defending elite scorer Kevin Durant and try to make him work for his points.

▪ 3. Focus: Players were stunned that coach Michael Malone was fired Sunday night. The Thunder will quickly take advantage if the Kings aren’t ready to play. If they aren’t ready, the Kings could suffer an embarrassing loss.
