Players of the game: Washington center Marcin Gortat had 27 points, 16 rebounds and four blocks, and point guard John Wall had 12 points and a career-high 19 assists as the Wizards defeated the Kings 113-99 on Monday night at Verizon Center.

Turning point: Despite being outplayed most of the night, the Kings were tied 84-84 after three quarters. The Wizards opened the fourth with an 8-0 run that the Kings could not overcome.

X-factor: The injury-depleted Wizards only used two reserves, Kris Humphries and Ramon Sessions, until the final minute. Each scored 15 points.

Records: Kings 11-17, Wizards 12-14.

Key injuries: Willie Cauley-Stein (dislocated finger) remains out for the Kings.
