Player of the game: DeMarcus Cousins had 32 points and nine rebounds in 27 minutes as the Kings ended their losing streak at three games by overwhelming the Phoenix Suns in the second half for a 142-119 victory on Saturday at Sleep Train Arena. It was Phoenix’s eighth straight loss and the most points scored by the Kings since they had 154 exactly 23 years ago against visiting Philadelphia.

Turning point: The Kings led 84-81 with 3:59 left in the third quarter before going on a 19-6 run to close the quarter. Sacramento scored a season-high 44 points in the third to put the game out of reach.

Records: Kings 13-20, Suns 12-24

Key injuries: Kings center Willie Cauley-Stein returned after suffering a dislocated finger on Dec. 3.
