WEDNESDAY VS. PELICANS

TV/radio: CSNCA, 950, 1140

Jason Jones’ take: Former Oak Ridge High School star Ryan Anderson returns amid trade speculation as New Orleans has struggled this season.

Pelicans players to watch: Fourth-year power forward Anthony Davis is averaging 23.5 points, 11.1 rebounds and 2.6 blocked shots, but he suffered a lower back injury Friday against the Pacers. Ryan Anderson averages 16.6 points and 6.2 rebounds. Former King Tyreke Evans averages 15.2 points and 7.2 assists.

Last meeting: The Kings won 101-95 at home April 3 when DeMarcus Cousins scored 24 points and had 20 rebounds. It was the Kings’ fourth win in a row.

Hometown take: From John Reid, The (New Orleans) Times Picayune, “Tyreke Evans played with effort on Friday night and didn't dominate the 24-second clock by holding the ball too long like he's done in some previous games. He attacked swiftly and scored a game-high 27 points, but the Indiana Pacers didn't have a problem responding with their own offensive attack, especially in the fourth quarter.”

THURSDAY AT JAZZ

TV/radio: CSNCA, 950, 1140

Jason Jones’ take: Utah’s Rudy Gobert will try to slow down DeMarcus Cousins.

Hometown take: From Aaron Falk, Salt Lake Tribune, “On the night center Rudy Gobert gave the Jazz cause to celebrate with his return from a monthlong absence due to a knee injury, the shorthanded Jazz watched shooting guard Rodney Hood helped off the court with an ankle injury in a 103-94 loss to the Rockets.”

SATURDAY AT L.A. CLIPPERS

Time: 7:30 p.m.

Jason Jones’ take: The Kings will need a solid game plan to contend with aggressive Chris Paul.

Clippers players to watch: Absent an injured Blake Griffin, Chris Paul leads the team in scoring (17.7 points per game and assists (9.5). DeAndre Jordan averages 11.6 points and 13.4 rebounds.

Last meeting: The Clippers won 114-109 on Oct. 31 at home with Blake Griffin scoring a game-high 37 points, DeAndre Jordan getting a game-high 18 rebounds and Chris Paul having a game-high 11 assists.

Hometown take: From Ben Bolch, Los Angeles Times, “Blake Griffin continues to provide a lesson in the finicky nature of partially torn quadriceps tendons. The Clippers' All-Star forward is progressing in his recovery from the injury that has sidelined him since the day after Christmas, but there remains no definitive timetable for his return.”
