WEDNESDAY AT LAKERS

Time: 7:30 p.m.

TV/radio: CSNCA, 950, 1140

Jason Jones’ take: The Lakers are bad this season, but their guards can be explosive scorers.

Lakers players to watch: Kobe Bryant leads the team in scoring (17.0 per game) and assists (3.4). Jordan Clarkson scored 22 against the Warriors and is averaging 15.3 points per game. Louis Williams scored 21 points in the Lakers’ 116-98 loss to the Warriors on Thursday and is also averaging 15.3 points per game.

Last meeting: The Kings won 118-115 on Jan. 7 as DeMarcus Cousins scored 29 points and had 10 rebounds in a game the Lakers trailed by as many as 27 points in Kobe Bryant’s final Sacramento appearance.

Hometown take: From Mike Bresnahan, Los Angeles Times, “(Kobe Bryant) still has not sat out a ‘last stop’ game since announcing his retirement, and it was soon obvious he would play Thursday despite being chased from Tuesday's game in the second quarter because of the Achilles.’

THURSDAY VS. HAWKS

Time: 7 p.m.

TV/radio: CSNCA, 1140

Jason Jones’ take: One of the NBA’s better passing teams will test Sacramento’s defense. The Hawks average 25.4 assists, second in the league.

Hawks players to watch: Paul Milsap leads Atlanta in scoring (18.4 points per game), rebounds (8.7) and steals (1.9). Al Horford averages 15.6 points and a team-high 1.5 blocked shots. Jeff Teague leads in assists (5.6) and is averaging 14.9 points per game.

Last meeting: The Hawks won 103-97 on Nov. 18 despite 24 points from DeMarcus Cousins. The Hawks used a 35-22 second quarter to take control and halt a three-game losing streak.

Hometown take: From Carol Roger Walton, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, “These Hawks are making a name as a perennially slow-starting team.”

SATURDAY VS. PACERS

Time: 7:30 p.m.

TV/radio: CSNCA, 1140

Jason Jones’ take: DeMarcus Cousins began a rebounding surge by grabbing 16, a season high at the time, at Indiana on Dec. 23.

Pacers players to watch: Paul George leads Indiana in scoring (24.0 points per game), rebounds (7.5) and steals (1.9). C.J. Miles averages 13.4 points per game, Monta Ellis 13.3. Ellis is the team leader in assists (5.0).

Last meeting: The Kings won 108-106 on Dec. 23 behind DeMarcus Cousins’ 25 points and his huge rebounding effort. Rajon Rondo had 17 assists. The win let the Kings end a four-game trip 2-2.

Hometown take: From Candace Buckner, Indianapolis Star, “A sold-out crowd tolerated a 118-104 apathetic loss from the Indiana Pacers, the basketball equivalent to slogging through the muck after a snowstorm. Alan Anderson, an inactive veteran who hasn't played a minute this season for the Wizards, provided more effort from the bench than any of the Pacers who stepped onto the floor.”
