Kings game plan against the Oklahoma City Thunder

KINGS (14-20)

VS. THUNDER (17-18)

THE PARTICULARS

Where: Sleep Train Arena

Time: 7 p.m.

TV/radio: CSNCA, 1140

THREE KEYS

1. Contain the point: Guard Russell Westbrook had 32 points, seven assists, six rebounds and four steals in the Thunder’s 104-92 win Dec. 16 at Sleep Train. If Westbrook has another big game, it will be difficult for the Kings to win.

2. Defend the three: The Kings’ three-point defense has slipped, but the Thunder (32.1 percent) is one of the league’s worst three-point-shooting teams. The Kings will be in trouble if they allow the Thunder to start making threes.

3. Control the pace: The Thunder, which averages 99.2 points, will score a lot more if the Kings aren’t disciplined. The Kings have to figure out how to score easy baskets in transition against Oklahoma City’s solid defense without allowing Westbrook and Kevin Durant to put up big numbers with easy baskets. That means getting back on defense.
