1. Get back on defense: Led by Rajon Rondo, the Mavericks will look to push the pace and get easy scores in transition. The Kings must watch out for Dallas’ multiple weapons on fast breaks, including center Tyson Chandler, who can go up for lob dunks.
2. Protect the ball: The Kings had a season-low five turnovers in Sunday’s win over Cleveland. A similar effort will be needed against the Mavericks. Rondo and Monta Ellis can ignite breaks by getting into passing lanes for steals.
3. Maintain the intensity: Sacramento blew a 24-point lead Nov. 11 at Dallas and lost by eight. The Kings must stay focused and disciplined, especially if they take another sizable lead, because they can’t expect to take a quarter or two off and beat the formidable Mavericks.
