Kings beat Lakers 106-98, end losing streak at five

Player of the game: Darren Collison had 22 points and six assists, helping the Kings build a big lead and hold on for a 106-98 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday night at Staples Center. The Kings ended a five-game losing streak.

Turning point: After having a 23-point lead trimmed to six at 100-94, the Kings held the Lakers scoreless for nearly two minutes and went ahead 106-94 with 59.5 seconds to play.

X-factor: The Kings scored 30 points off 22 Lakers turnovers. The turnovers also helped Sacramento score a season-high 40 fast-break points.

Records: Kings 26-40, Lakers 14-54

Key injuries: The Kings’ Ben McLemore (non-displaced fracture of right ring fingertip) missed his fourth consecutive game. Kobe Bryant (sore right shoulder) did not play for the Lakers.
