Player of the game: New Orleans forward Ryan Anderson scored 21 of his 29 points in the decisive second quarter as the Pelicans defeated the Kings 123-108 Wednesday night at Sleep Train Arena. The Kings lost all four games to the Pelicans this season.

Turning point: The Pelicans outscored the Kings 34-15 over the final 9:19 of the second quarter to establish a 74-53 halftime lead. The 74 points matched the most the Kings have given up in a half this season (at Boston, Feb. 7).

X-factor: Anderson was so dominant in the second quarter, All-Star Anthony Davis only played two minutes. Davis asserted himself in the second half and finished with 27 points and 14 rebounds.

Records: Kings 26-41, Pelicans 25-42

Key injuries: Guards Rajon Rondo (right thumb sprain, right shoulder contusion and turf toe), Marco Belinelli (sore right ankle) and Ben McLemore (fractured finger) were out for the Kings.

Sacramento Kings coach George Karl said that the Kings have struggled on back-to-back games after loss to Pelicans.
