Minnesota rookie Towns too much for Kings, who fall 113-104

Player of the game: Minnesota rookie center Karl-Anthony Towns had 26 points, 11 rebounds and four blocked shots to lead the Timberwolves to a 113-104 victory over the Kings on Wednesday night at Target Center. The Kings ended their four-game trip 1-3.

Turning point: Minnesota used a 16-6 run to take control and go up 105-93 with 2:16 left in the fourth quarter after the Kings cut their 13-point lead to 89-87.

X-factors: The Kings were outscored 64-52 in the paint. The Kings also allowed 23 points off 17 turnovers.

Records: Kings 27-44, Timberwolves 23-48

Key injuries: DeMarcus Cousins (bruised right knee) and Ben McLemore (fractured finger) were out for the Kings.
