Kings to rest three starters at Portland

The Kings will rest center DeMarcus Cousins, point guard Rajon Rondo and forward Rudy Gay for Monday’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers at Moda Center.

Reserve guard Marco Belinelli also will miss the game with a sore right foot.

Cousins has been dealing with tendinitis in both feet. Rondo has been playing with turf toe and a sore right shoulder and ankle.

The Kings have won two games in a row, 116-94 over Phoenix on Friday and 133-111 over Dallas on Sunday, both at Sleep Train Arena.

The Kings have little incentive to win their final nine games. If they finish outside the bottom 10, they would lose their first-round draft pick to Chicago. The Bulls acquired the protected pick in a trade with Cleveland, which had acquired in a 2011 trade with the Kings.

The Kings have the seventh-worst record in the NBA at 29-44.
