New Kings coach Dave Joerger’s coaching staff includes three members of his staff in Memphis last season.
Elston Turner, Duane Ticknor and Jason March will join holdovers Corliss Williamson and Nancy Lieberman and former Kings assistant Bryan Gates, the team announced Friday.
“We’ve united a tremendously dedicated, hard-working coaching staff with a unique, collective set of experiences and strengths that I’m confident will serve the team well,” Joerger said in a statement.
Turner will be Joerger’s lead assistant, as Turner was the last three seasons with the Grizzlies. He was an assistant coach for the Kings on Rick Adelman’s staff from 2000 to 2006, directing the defense of the Kings’ best teams in the Sacramento era.

Ticknor also was on Joerger’s staff the last three seasons in Memphis. Previously, Ticknor coached in the NBA Development League, Continental Basketball Association and International Basketball Association.
Gates was a two-time D-League Coach of the Year when he joined the Kings on Paul Westphal’s staff in 2009. Gates was on Monty Williams’ staff in New Orleans for five seasons before working in Minnesota last season.
March was with the Grizzlies for nine seasons in various capacities, most recently as an assistant coach and advance scout. Before 2013, March worked in the Grizzlies’ video department. He also was an assistant video coordinator for Phoenix in 2006 and the head video coordinator for the 2007 WNBA champion Phoenix Mercury.
Williamson, who will be in his fourth season with the Kings, joined the team under Michael Malone in 2013. Lieberman will be in her second season; she was hired for George Karl’s staff.
