Records: Kings 17-32, Jazz 18-33

Player of the game: Gordon Hayward had 30 points as the Jazz handed the Kings their 11th loss in 12 games.

Turning point: The Kings missed 10 of their first 12 shots, trailed 25-15 after the first quarter and never led.

Key stat: The Jazz shot 50 percent, while the Kings shot 39 percent.

X-factor: No one expected Jazz center Enes Kanter to outplay DeMarcus Cousins, who had 27 points and 10 rebounds. But Kanter’s 17 points and 13 rebounds were a solid contribution.

Injury update: Kings guard Darren Collison missed the game because of a strained right hip flexor. The Jazz was without guard Joe Ingles because of low back spasms.

Up next: The Kings host Phoenix today, 6 p.m.
