Player of the game: DeMarcus Cousins won it with a 19-foot jumper at the buzzer. He had 28 points and 12 rebounds.

Turning point: With the Kings reeling and down 83-81, Cousins muscled his way to the basket for the tying score with 57.9 seconds to play.

Key stat: 12, the Kings’ fourth-quarter point total, which was just enough to overcome Isaiah Thomas’ 12-point fourth quarter for the Suns.

X-factors: Ramon Sessions had 10 points, seven rebounds and six assists for the Kings.

Injury update: Darren Collison missed his second game because of a strained right hip flexor and could be out through the All-Star break. Rudy Gay sat out because of a sore left foot. Suns center Alex Len was sidelined by a sprained right ankle.
