Injured 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick has had some time to think recently, and being out for the NFL season tends to afford one that luxury.

Of course, even if he didn’t get sidelined with a bum shoulder, it would be pretty hard for the 49ers’ quarterback - or anyone, really - to escape Donald Trump’s ongoing anti-Muslim rhetoric, which includes a calling for “a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States.”

On Thursday, Kaepernick posted a series of photos on Instagram, each calling Trump out for a different reason, and closed it all with a quote from retired Air Force Colonel Thomas Moe alongside the caption “Food for thought!”

The topic was trending on social media on Sunday.

Food for thought!
