SANTA CLARA -- The 49ers will be without tight end Vance McDonald for today’s game while the Cowboys are missing receiver Dez Bryant and two starting offensive linemen.

McDonald injured his hip early in last week’s loss to Seattle after absorbing a hit from Seahawks safety Kam Chancellor. He missed Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s practices but participated on a limited basis the rest of the week.

Another tight end, Garrett Celek, also was injured on a hit from Chancellor but remained in the game and will be available today. Celek had been listed as questionable. The 49ers tight ends vs. Dallas will be Celek, Blake Bell and Je’Ron Hamm.

The 49ers also will be without Jimmie Ward, who injured his quadriceps in Seattle. The team has not announced whether Keith Reaser or Rashard Robinson will start in place of Ward; both are expected to get significant snaps today.

Bryant suffered a hairline fracture in his right knee early in last week’s win against Chicago. The Cowboys also will be without starting guard La’el Collins and tackle Tyron Smith, significant considering they are expected to lean heavily on their running game today.
