SANTA CLARA -- Torrey Smith will miss the first game of his career after suffering a shoulder injury last week against the Cardinals, leaving the 49ers without their most experienced pass catcher. Their least experienced, sixth-round pick Aaron Burbridge, will start in Smith’s place. Burbridge has two catches for 20 yards this season.

Smith was drafted by the Ravens in 2011 and he had played in every regular-season game since, 89 total. However, he’s been slowed in recent weeks by a bad back and, during last week’s game against the Cardinals, a shoulder injury. He’s caught five passes for 61 yards and no touchdowns in the last three weeks.

The 49ers also will be with without outside linebacker Aaron Lynch (ankle) for the third straight contest but rookie cornerback Rashard Robinson (knee) is available for the first time since mid October.
