Offense: Whether it was due to steady rain, a soggy surface or his rapidly dwindling offensive line, C.J. Beathard was off target Sunday. The rookie quarterback showed moxie, though, in rushing for 40 yards, and his jersey was dingy gray by game’s end. Grade: D-

Defense: By the fourth quarter, the 49ers defensive line consisted of DeForest Buckner, Earl Mitchell, Leger Douzable, Tony McDaniel and Datone Jones. Considering all the newcomers, it’s an achievement the 49ers allowed 304 yards. The group gave up 501 yards a week ago. Grade: C

Special teams: A 27-yard field-goal attempt was blocked by Eagles’ first-round pick Derek Barnett. Meanwhile, Rashard Robinson was banished to special teams and still committed two penalties. Bradley Pinion’s punts looked as if he was dealing with a water-logged ball. Grade: C-

Overall: Including Sunday’s 33-10 loss, the 49ers’ worst two games have been their last two, and now they have a slew of injured starters to deal with. A silver lining for a team that’s been on the road four of the past five weeks: They will not have to board a plane in November. Grade: D-
