Johnson, Witherspoon, Mabin and Powell play outside cornerback. All are 6-1 are taller, and the team prefers longer, physical players on the outside. Davis is 5-11 but weighs 207 pounds and was a track star in high school. The 49ers also had shown some interest in former Raiders cornerback Davis Amerson. However, he signed a one-year deal with the Chiefs last week.
