For the third straight day, a new player showed up on the 49ers’ injury report. This time it was veteran safety Antoine Bethea, who apparently injured his ankle late in the week.
Bethea is listed as questionable to play Sunday against an Eagles offense that ranks second in the league in passing and scoring. However, Bethea was not walking with a limp after today’s practice. And given that he has played in 99 straight games, he doesn’t seem like someone who will let a minor injury keep him out of the 100th.
Meanwhile, both tight end Vernon Davis and Vance McDonald are listed as questionable. McDonald (knee) sounded confident he would play against the Eagles but was nearly as positive last week before missing the game against the Cardinals.
Davis said he is still experiencing pain in his ankle when he runs. However, he took took part in all three practices this week, albeit on a limited basis. Tackle Anthony Davis (hamstring) also is listed as questionable.
