SANTA CLARA -- Starters Vernon Davis, Anthony Davis and Tramaine Brock appear poised to miss their third practice of the week, increasing the chance that none of them plays Sunday against the Chiefs. The 49ers will post their final injury report later this afternoon; the three players weren’t on hand for the start of practice that is open to reporters.
Brock is almost certain to miss his fourth straight start with a turf toe injury. Perrish Cox, who has played well, will start in his place.
Anthony Davis is dealing with knee and ankle injuries, neither of which are long term but could keep him out of Sunday’s game. If so, Jonathan Martin would play right tackle and would be matched against NFL sack co-leader Justin Houston most of the afternoon Sunday.
Tight end Vernon Davis is dealing with a back injury that forced him from Sunday’s win over the Eagles. Derek Carrier is the only fully healthy tight end on the roster. Vance McDonald (knee) missed the most recent game and has been limited in practice this week.
