Every Sunday, more national reports emerge about turmoil with the 49ers and head coach Jim Harbaugh. This time, the man ultimately in charge of the team responded.
“Jim is my coach,” de facto owner Jed York wrote on Twitter 2 ½ hours before kickoff. “We are trying to win a SB, not a personality or popularity contest. Any more questions?”

The tweet seems to acknowledge that a personality contest is not Harbaugh's forte. Reports have been appearing since early in the offseason that players aren't particularly happy with Harbaugh. On Fox Sports 1 this morning, former 49ers receiver Randy Moss said Harbaugh “treated us men like we were still college kids at Stanford."
Still, it's hard to see veterans inside the locker room – from Justin Smith to Patrick Willis to Frank Gore – allowing locker-room discord to derail a shot at a Super Bowl title. Harbaugh and the 49ers will face the man who has the biggest cause to resent Harbaugh, Alex Smith, today. kickoff is at 1:25 p.m.
