GLENDALE, Az. -- Receiver Bruce Ellington and tight end Vance McDonald will join Reggie Bush on the 49ers’ inactive list for today’s game against the Cardinals.

Ellington sprained his ankle the Thursday before the Steelers game and missed that contest. McDonald, who still is looking for his first career touchdown, injured his knee covering a Steelers punt return. Bush injured his calf in Week 1 and has not practiced since. He did not make the trip with the 49ers and instead is rehabilitating in Santa Clara.

Ellington’s absence means that rookie DeAndrew White is active for the second straight week. White can play receiver as well as return kicks and punts. That McDonald won’t play will provide more snaps for rookie Blake Bell, who was in on 17 offensive snaps -- most after McDonald was injured -- last week in Pittsburgh.

In addition, rookie Ian Silberman -- active the first two games -- will be on the sideline today. That means rookie Nick Easton, acquired in a trade with the Patriots just before the regular season, will be the top backup at center and guard while Trent Brown is the backup at right tackle.

Outside linebacker Corey Lemonier also is active for the first time this season. Meanwhile, veteran cornerback Shareece Wright has been inactive for every game this season. “Politics as usual,” Wright tweeted about two hours before the game. He quickly erased the tweet.

For the Cardinals, Mike Iupati (knee) will not play after practicing on a limited basis this week. Iupati had arthroscopic surgery on his knee last month. Running back Andre Ellington (knee) will not play for Arizona. Instead Chris Johnson will start at running back.
