SANTA CLARA -- Running back Carlos Hyde missed Wednesday’s practice with a foot injury. Coach Jim Tomsula did not mention Hyde in his pre-practice injury run-down and Hyde was seen walking without a limp and working on an exercise cycle at the start of practice. Both indicate he is not seriously injured.
Hyde finished Sunday’s game with 93 yards and scored a touchdown in the fourth quarter. He ranks seventh in the NFL in rushing yards and is on pace for 1,200 yards total.
With Reggie Bush (calf) also out, that left the 49ers with two rookie runners on the 53-man roster at practice, Mike Davis and Jarryd Hayne. The team also has Kendall Gaskins on the practice squad.
Like last week, starting offensive linemen Alex Boone (shoulder) and Joe Staley (knee) sat out Wednesday’s practice. Both played -- and played well -- in Sunday’s loss to the Giants.
