SANTA CLARA -- Two 49ers who have had trouble staying healthy this season -- Reggie Bush and Bruce Ellington -- are inactive for today’s game against the Ravens. Meanwhile, a pair of prominent Ravens, running back Justin Forsett and receiver Steve Smith, will be in uniform.

Bush and Ellington both are dealing with what 49ers coach Jim Tomsula has described as mild calf strains. Bush initially hurt his in Week 1, returned in Week 4 but felt the calf tighten on him Sunday against the Giants. Ellington, meanwhile, had a nice showing early against New York but ended up playing only two offensive snaps. Ellington injured his calf in Thursday’s practice.

Their absences mean that rookie receiver DeAndrew White and rookie running back Mike Davis are active today. So is guard Andrew Tiller, who split snaps at right guard last week with Jordan Devey.

Also active are tight end Vernon Davis (knee) and starting running back Carlos Hyde, who is dealing with a foot injury and who practiced sparingly in the run-up to the game.

For the Ravens, Smith missed the last one and a half games with a back injury, one of several injuries the team has experienced at the position. Forsett is dealing with a high-ankle sprain and could be limited even though he is active

Baltimore’s other running backs are rookies.
