The 49ers activated nose tackle Glenn Dorsey today. Dorsey started the season on injured reserve with a designation to return after suffering a torn biceps Aug. 1.
The 49ers placed Ian Willaims on injured reserve, ending his season. Willaims began the season as the 49ers’ starting nose tackle and played well, but he broke his leg last week in New Orleans.
Quinton Dial, a second-year player, started at nose tackle in Sunday’s 16-10 victory over the Giants, but New York used three or more receivers most of the game and Dial played only 14 snaps.
