SEATTLE -- Add Glenn Dorsey to a list of 49ers defenders who have suffered seemingly severe injuries in Seattle.

The 49ers' starting defensive lineman went down with a knee injury despite very little contact on the team's opening defensive series. He was carted off the field and has been termed questionable to return. With Tank Carradine inactive for this game, rookie Arik Armstead stepped in when the 49ers were in their base defense.

The 49ers began the game with linebacker NaVorro Bowman and nose tackle Ian Williams taking part in the honorary coin toss. Bowman suffered a grisly knee injury in the 2013 NFC Championship game that caused him to miss the 2014 season.

Williams, meanwhile, suffered a broken ankle when he was cut-blocked by a Seahawks offensive linemen earlier in the 2013 season. He missed the rest of that season.

Dorsey, 30, joined the 49ers in 2013. He missed all of last season with a torn biceps suffered in training camp.
